About Us

The Idaho Environmental Health Association (IEHA) is a member-driven non-profit organization. IEHA's mission is to:

  • Provide professional education and growth opportunities for Environmental Health Specialists
  • Promote high standards of professional and ethical conduct for Environmental Health Specialists
  • Strive for increased recognition of Environmental Health Specialists as a professional group rendering services vital to public and environmental health
  • Promote objectives and programs that will qualify IEHA to affiliate with organizations sharing similar missions

IEHA's membership primarily consists of credentialed Environmental Health Specialists and other professionals that hold a license or credential related to public and environmental health (e.g., engineering, industrial hygiene, geology, etc.) and are actively engaged in environmental health related programs. Membership is also held by students, retired professionals, honorary members, or any person that supports the mission of the Association.

The Association pursues its mission by hosting an annual education conference centered on environmental health and related topics. The conference is held in Boise, Idaho every spring and brings together environmental health professionals from around the state. In addition to delivering continuing education opportunities the Association recognizes individuals that make notable differences in the field of environmental health through the Professional of the Year Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Service Award, and the President's Award.

IEHA also provides a quarterly newsletter referred to as the Digest. The Digest includes information regarding the Association, its membership, and current events or topics regarding environmental health. Delivery of the Digest is only available to IEHA members.

IEHA has several committees that help to make the pursuit of the Association's mission possible. If you are interested in serving on a committee related to any of the above-mentioned Association activities contact us at [email protected].
